1. How long have you been at MCI and what do you do?  

I’ve been at MCI USA for ten years, but I’ve been working with ICA (Interstitial Cystitis Association) for 23 years, because I came to MCI as a legacy staff member. In addition to ICA, I also work for the Multiple System Atrophy Coalition.  

For ICA, I wear many hats, but my main focus is content and communications, including the website and social media. We are currently building out a completely new website to launch in the next few months. For MSA Coalition, I mostly work on preparing research grant applications.   

2. Why have you stayed here for so long?  

The people I work with are amazing! My teammates and supervisors all work so hard and are great people all around. And then, the organizations I work with are so near and dear to my heart. I love being a part of cause-based associations and really helping make a difference for people.  

3. How has the company changed over the years? 

When I first started with MCI, everyone mostly worked in the office, but I have always been virtual. So when everyone else went virtual two years ago, it actually made me feel closer to everyone. Since everyone is virtual and doing things over Zoom/Teams, I’m seeing people more than I used to, which has been very helpful. It’s definitely been interesting watching everyone else make the switch to virtual, but I feel like our communication with each other is a lot stronger now.   

4. What do you do for fun in your spare time? 

I love to watch my son and husband play golf. I used to play too, and would like to get back into it, but the last time I played I was pregnant with my son, and he just turned 15! 

We just went to Florida because he was competing in a national tournament for Under Armour, and I got on an airplane for the first time since 2005. I hate flying, but I did it for him. I love following his golf and trying to make sure he has a positive experience with the sport.

I also assist the director of the local Under Armour league by helping with communications and on-site match day needs. Overall, just being out on the golf course and enjoying the sunshine and spending time with my family is my favorite place to be.  

5. What’s the best movie or tv show you’ve watched lately? 

I’m way behind the times, but I recently finished watching Downton Abbey, which was amazing. I got through all the seasons and the movie, and now I’m looking forward to the second movie coming out soon! 

I absolutely love everything about it. I swear I should have been born in that time period! I love the atmosphere, the costumes, the accents, it’s all just fantastic.
