As Tom Gibson noted in our 2021 Kick-Off, we’re going to implement a new, mandatory time and job tracking system in Q2. The purpose of this system is two-fold:
First, we need to ensure staffing levels directly address the needs of our existing talents. To do this, we need to better understand both our service delivery efficiencies and inefficiencies. This system will help us direct staffing resources where they can deliver the greatest benefit to our talents and clients.
Second, the new time and job tracking system will also enable more informed pricing and contracting for our services. Our ability to increase both staffing resources and talent compensation stems directly from the fees our clients pay for our services.
A recurring challenge of our client-centric culture is saying “yes” to activities not within our work scope and in the process, spending time on activities that don’t yield strong outcomes. While we certainly want to continue to say “yes” to our clients, we also need to ensure our clients are contracted and paying for the continued excellence our talents provide.
What can you do to prepare for the new, mandatory system? Make sure you are entering your time in Paycom each day. It is important as that data will be imported into the new system – and it will help create the habit!
