1. What do you do at MCI?
I started at MCI in August where I am the executive director for the Association of Women Surgeons (AWS) / AWS Foundation and managing director for the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw). I also am the client portfolio manager for the Professional Development Consortium (PDC).
I love the culture here! Everyone has been so wonderful to work with. It’s especially great to be a part of a team of people who always want to work hard and do a great job for their clients.
2. How has your career in association management progressed?
My first job out of college was working for an association management company. I initially worked on a healthcare association. I continued my career by working at two other association management companies. I started my career as an association administrator and worked hard moving up in my career to association manager, administrative director, executive director, and then on to Vice President.
3. What keeps you motivated after so long in the industry?
I am extremely passionate about creating the right strategies to meet associations’ needs. I am inspired and stay motivated by the missions and work of organizations. I enjoy building new relationships and learning about new industries.
4. What do you do for fun outside of work?
I enjoy the time I get to spend with my family. I have three boys, and we like to go for long bike rides and walks together. My extended family also all live in the Chicagoland area within about 45 minutes, which is nice, and we have fun spending time with each other.
5. What is your favorite upcoming holiday?
Still a few months out, but I have to say Christmas. I enjoy that because I have a big family and it is always so much fun to get together with all my siblings and see our kids play together. I just love the decorations and the feeling of magic that comes with the season!
