Over the last few months, we have seen several great talent referrals come from our MCI team. Thank you for your willingness to refer great talent! We have a lot of positions that we are filling to align with growth and these referrals are critical. As a result, we are delighted to share that we are enhancing our referral program to provide MCI talents greater incentive to refer well-qualified candidates to the MCI team. This will replace the current policy outlined in the Talent Handbook.
As an incentive to encourage our talents to recommend a prospective full-time team member (30+ hours per week), we are improving the talent referral program:
- Shortly after hire date, the referring talent will receive a $100 AMEX gift card as a thank you.
- After six months of employment, the referring talent will receive $500 as a referral bonus.
- After twelve months of employment, the referring talent will receive $1,000 as a referral bonus.
Total value of talent referral: $1,600
How does it work?
The referral bonuses described above in numbers two and three will be paid on the next payroll following the six and twelve month anniversary date, subject to appropriate Social Security and required Federal and state withholdings.
What are the conditions?
Both the referring talent and the new hire must be actively employed at the date outlined and be in good standing (without a Performance Improvement Plan and must not have submitted their resignation) to receive the referral bonus.
Who is not eligible to earn referral rewards?
As leaders and stewards of the MCI USA business, senior management with the title of vice president or above and members of the People & Culture team are excluded from receiving a referral fee. In addition, any Manager in the hierarchy of supervision of the new hire will be excluded from receiving a referral fee.
Which new hires are excluded from eligibility?
No referral bonus will be paid for (1) new hires who join through a temporary or permanent placement agencies and (2) new hires employed as part-time or full-time event support temps or (3) new hires who have been engaged as an independent contractor within the last twelve months.
What is the effective date of the new program?
The new plan will apply for new talents who joined as referrals after January 1, 2022. (Note: Talents who are eligible for the gift cards based on 2022 hires will receive them in the next few weeks.)
