RESOLVE: The National Infertility Association hosted its annual Federal Advocacy Day (virtual event) on May 14. This event brought together more than 650 members of RESOLVE’s community who care about legislative issues that impact people who struggle to build a family. RESOLVE team members oversaw a volunteer committee of more than 120 volunteers, in addition to creating and executing a multichannel marketing plan to reach its attendee goal.

RESOLVE helped coordinate meetings for the advocacy day participants with their members of Congress. The team also created and executed a pre-event training program so participants felt comfortable talking to their lawmakers. This year, advocates from all 50 states and Washington D.C., were recruited, and advocates held 94 Senate meetings and 269 House meetings.

By encouraging patients and professionals to actively engage with Members of Congress, we seek to share their stories and expertise to raise awareness about and improve access to family building options. The goal is to increase the number of bill co-sponsors to help move legislation forward. MCI talents that worked on this event included Barb Collura, Ayesha Audu, Michelle Chavez, Sylvia Dao and Simeonne Bookal.
