Open enrollment for MCI USA’s upcoming benefit year, which runs Oct. 1, 2024 – Sept. 30, 2025, is taking place now until Monday, Sept. 9.

The primary change is that MCI will now offer talents one medical plan that is HSA-eligible. In addition to this change, MCI will be contributing to an HSA for employee-only and all family tiers. A summary of the changes is below.

Highlights:

Medical

  • Medical plan will continue to be offered through Cigna.
  • MCI USA is transitioning to a single high-deductible medical plan option with an HSA for this upcoming plan year.
  • MCI USA will fund the HSA at $500 for employee-only and $1,000 for all other family tiers to help offset the cost of the deductible.
  • We will continue to use Flores as our HSA partner.
  • Medical Flexible Spending Account (only for those enrolling in HD HSA plan)

  • If you have money in your FSA and want to use this for medical expenses, you will need to incur those expenses by Dec. 31, 2024.
  • On Jan. 1, 2025, any unused FSA funds will be converted to a limited purpose FSA account for vision and dental expenses only.
  • On Dec. 31, 2024, you will be eligible to roll over up to $640 of remaining FSA funds for a 2025 Limited Purpose Spending Account.
  • Talents with FSA funds remaining will be provided their caught-up employer contribution to their HSA on Jan. 1, 2025, to begin using for medical expenses.
  • Talents that are currently enrolled in the medical FSA and not enrolling in the HSA medical plan can continue to contribute to the medical FSA.
  • Limited Purpose Flexible Spending Account

  • Talents who enroll in the HSA eligible medical plan can put aside pre-tax dollars to help pay for eligible dental and vision expenses.
  • Logistics

We are holding an active MCI USA benefits open enrollment, which means you must go through open enrollment to have benefits for the upcoming plan year, even if you are not making changes. The only exception is if you are currently enrolled in Voluntary Life/AD&D or any supplemental benefits including critical illness, pet coverage, accident and hospital indemnity; those elections will roll over unless you make active changes to that benefit.

Enrollment will be done through Paycom, and instructions will be emailed to you when our MCI USA benefits open enrollment opens. The elections you make — or fail to make! — will be in effect for the full plan year, unless you have a qualified life status change (e.g., marriage, divorce, birth/adoption of child, loss of other coverage), so consider your elections carefully. After attending these important educational workshops, the P&C team will be here for any additional questions you have.
