MCI USA is proud to introduce the Sustainability Champions, a new initiative dedicated to fostering a more sustainable, inclusive and responsible workplace. This program reflects our deep commitment to a holistic approach to sustainability, encompassing environmental impact, DEI&B, community engagement, learning and development, and wellness and safety.
At the heart of this initiative is our mission: to cultivate an inclusive, authentic culture that is profoundly human — one that embraces sustainability in a way that respects both our planet and our people. In every issue of “Talent Talk,” we will provide our latest updates and news you can use related to DEI&B, sustainability and more.
Celebrating International Women’s Day
March 8 marks International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating women’s achievements, drawing awareness to discrimination and taking action toward a gender-equal world. What this means is to go beyond a one-size-fits all approach to inclusivity and truly recognize the value in our differences and address the needs of the individual person. Equal opportunities do not always result in equal outcomes, whether we’re talking about hearing care solutions or career trajectories. The illustration below from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation is a great visual representation of this concept:

March is Women’s History Month
March is Women’s History Month, a time to celebrate the incredible contributions women have made throughout history and today. It’s about recognizing the change-makers and everyday heroes who have shaped the world. How It All Began Women’s History Month started as Women’s History Week in 1980, thanks to a proclamation by Jimmy Carter. The idea quickly gained momentum, and by 1987, Congress officially expanded it to a full month. Now, every March, we take the time to highlight the achievements of women across industries, movements, and moments in history. Want to Learn More? Here are a couple of great resources to dive deeper:
- National Women’s History Museum – Tons of inspiring stories and exhibits about women who changed history.
- Library of Congress: Women’s History Month – A collection of photos and educational resources.

Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. It’s an apt time to assess our strategies of inclusion for people with disabilities to ensure that MCI USA as an organization is not leaving disability out of the larger conversation on DEI&B. Whether we’re talking about intellectual disabilities, chronic illnesses, mental health diagnoses, sensory differences or mobility challenges, education and awareness are key. Rather than making assumptions about people with disabilities, true inclusion comes from engaging in dialogue and finding ways to address issues of accessibility and divergence in ways of working. If you are interested in sharing your own experiences and journey on this topic, please contact the Sustainability Champions.
