Ten talents from our Baltimore office rolled up their sleeves to help Civic Works’ Community Lot Team on May 10. The team worked on the Arlington Project on Hayward street in Baltimore City. The space they worked in was a lot that attracted drug activity, but it is now being transformed into a safe green space that will have a vegetable garden, an outdoor kitchen, benches for gathering, an outside classroom, open space for yoga and Zumba, and an orchard. This space will be utilized by the people in the community and the two neighborhood elementary schools. Baltimore talents dug holes to stabilize benches and dug a trench for a rain garden. They removed trash, cleared large stones, and moved dirt. It was a great workout during a beautiful spring morning. We were proud of what they were able to accomplish on behalf of MCI USA!
Volunteers were Stephanie Frank, Allison Zippert, Megan Lebo, Ross Perim, Emily Shawen, Maria Cumming, Becca Libercci, Taylor Rhyne, Sandra Greenwell, and Aisha France.
