Based in Atlanta, Georgia, Sierra Davey, senior event manager, brings creativity, energy and passion to every event she coordinates. She manages everything from venue sourcing and budgeting to registration, housing and on-site execution, with a special love for collaborating with the vendors, speakers, volunteers and staff who help bring each program to life. Originally from Northern Virginia, Sierra moved to Atlanta during the pandemic and has loved building a new chapter while creating events that leave lasting impressions.

  1. What initially drew you to a career in events?
Programming and education were my initial ties to events. After I decided I didn’t want to teach middle school math, I realized that designing content for workshops and sessions was a big part of what I loved. This led me to a technology company that presented research to educational institutions, and I realized I could use those same skills on a much larger scale across multiple clients and industries.
  2. What’s your favorite part about seeing an event come to life?
My favorite part about seeing an event come to life is seeing the looks on people’s faces as they enter. We put so much work into the attendee experience, how they enter, what they’ll see. First impressions and last impressions are a big feat in my world. Seeing the reactions of our attendees always makes the hard work worth it.
  3. What’s your “superpower” on event day?
My superpower on event days is being everything and everywhere all at once. Attendees often ask me, “How did you get here so fast?!” because I’ll be greeting for breakfast one minute, then across the building checking on speakers the next minute, and then up on another floor to flip signage and open doors.
  4. What would you say is your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment was winning PCMA’s 20 in their Twenties award this year. It was such an honor to be recognized as a leader in the industry, and to collaborate with other young leaders who have innovative, creative and exciting ideas for the future of events.
  5. What’s something surprising people may not know about you?
I don’t think it’s surprising if you know me, but I am an artist of multiple talents: I dance, I DJ, I write and perform poetry, and I paint. Being creative is pushing the boundaries and going outside of the box, something I’ve always tried to aim for. It’s another reason I love this job. I get to use my creative skills to add personality and flair to our events.
