Jon Korman
Senior Manager, Association Solutions, McLean Office
1. Can you tell us more about your role at MCI USA?
I am currently serving as the Client Coordinator for the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology and the Client Manager for the Paleontological Society. So, you might say that I spend my workdays living in the past. Both are clients that I previously worked with during my time at FASEB before we were acquired by MCI earlier this year.
2. What is your favorite part about your job?
I appreciate the fact that professional development opportunities seem to constantly present themselves organically as I go about performing my day-to-day job duties. It seems like everyone at MCI is an expert in their field, and that motivates me to try and live up to the standards that they set.
3. How has your job changed since COVID-19?
The biggest adjustment for me is that fact that we do not currently have the ability to communicate in-person. I think we have great technology at our disposal, but I am still working on figuring out the best alternative to popping over to a colleague’s workspace to discuss something in person in real-time.
4. What has been your favorite quarantine activity and why?
Taking the time I save by not having to commute and putting it to actual productive use!
5. What’s something your coworkers would be surprised to learn about you?
I suppose pretty much anything, since I haven’t had much of a chance to get to know most of my coworkers very well yet, but since I have to pick one thing, it might be to say that I have performed on two Grammy-award winning recordings.
Loved the questions Jon! I didn’t know you performed on two Grammy recordings. I need to learn more!
