The 2023 HSMAI Commercial Strategy Week took place June 26 – 29 in Toronto and hosted nearly 1,000 hospitality industry professionals during two events over the course of the week. This year marked the 20th anniversary of HSMAI providing educational conferences focused on marketing and revenue optimization. The week’s events reflected the convergence of marketing, revenue optimization, and other commercial functions into new and evolving commercial strategy organizations inside many hotel companies.

The Marketing Strategy Conference had over 600 registered, a 34% increase over last year’s record of 445 participants! 74% of the hotel attendees were in corporate or regional roles, representing 118 unique hotel brands, management companies, and ownership groups, with another 99 attendees from individual hotels.

The ROC, with over 700 registered, set a new record of 7% over HSMAI’s old record of 653 in 2020. 75% of the hotel attendees were in a corporate or regional role, representing 145 unique hotel brands, management companies, and ownership groups, with another 106 attendees from individual hotels.

To round things out, 25 hotel companies registered multiple attendees, 43 Partner Companies took part in Commercial Strategy Week, and 104 executive influencers engaged during Executive Roundtables.
