MCI USA is proud to introduce the Sustainability Champions, a new initiative dedicated to fostering a more sustainable, inclusive and responsible workplace. This program reflects our deep commitment to a holistic approach to sustainability, encompassing environmental impact, DEI&B, community engagement, learning and development, and wellness and safety.

At the heart of this initiative is our mission: to cultivate an inclusive, authentic culture that is profoundly human — one that embraces sustainability in a way that respects both our planet and our people.

In every issue of “Talent Talk,” we will provide our latest updates and news you can use related to DEI&B, sustainability and more.

Celebrating Black History Month

February is Black History Month, a time to celebrate the achievements, resilience and cultural impact of Black Americans. It’s a chance to honor those who’ve shaped our society and keep pushing for equality and inclusion. Here are a few ways to get involved:

  • Educate yourself: Explore books, movies, podcasts and articles about Black history and culture. Learning honors the past.

  • Support Black-owned businesses: Shop at local or online Black-owned businesses and share your favorites on Teams.
  • Engage in conversations: Participate in open, respectful discussions on race, history and diversity. Listen, learn and contribute.
  • Join events and activities: Attend events that celebrate Black culture and history, such as virtual talks, workshops, festivals or art exhibits.

Celebrate this month by valuing every story and promoting equity and inclusion!

MCI Sustainability Pillar Highlight

We aim to build a culture of responsibility and care, creating value in our communities. This month, we emphasize that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. Try one of these:

Give back locally using your VTO day. Our volunteer time off (VTO) program empowers you to make a difference by offering 8 hours of paid time off (4 hours for part-time talents) to engage in meaningful community or sustainability initiatives that align with your passions. Let’s give back and create a positive impact together. 🌟

Keep the spirit of Random Acts of Kindness Day (Feb. 17) alive. Kindness isn’t limited to one day! A kind note or a simple “thank you” can go a long way.

Send recognition on Paylocity with a “Thank You,” “Happy Birthday,” “Happy Anniversary” or “Value” badge:

  1. Navigate to Recognition & Rewards via Paylocity | Community.
  2. Select “Give Recognition.”
  3. Search for talent’s name under recipient(s) – can add more than one. 😊
  4. Choose a recognition badge.
  5. Write a personalized message. Optionally, add an attachment (photo, GIF, or video). Decide if the recognition should be public or private. Click recognize or preview to review before posting.

Support Black-owned businesses and nonprofits. Show your support by shopping, donating or spreading the word.

Be a connector. Mentor, network or uplift a customer or colleague in need of encouragement.
