Baltimore talents volunteered at the Baltimore Hunger Project (BHP) earlier this month. Nine MCI talents and two MCI extended family members (shout out to Royce and Adam!) made quick work of filling over 400 bags of food that will be slipped into the backpacks of young students who experience food shortages during the weekends. The assembly line process that BHP uses is smart, efficient, and fun. Our talents reported back that most of the time, it doesn’t even feel like a chore – but it is important and impactful work.
Throughout of the month of October, the Baltimore team collected food donations in the office which was an easy way for talents to contribute and add to the impact made during the visit to BHP. Leading up to the BHP visit, Baltimore talents, regardless of location, also wrote and decorated cards of encouragement. Every bag of food that is dropped into a child’s backpack includes a handwritten note – 1600 bags a week!
The Baltimore team’s continued support of BHP continues to be met with great enthusiasm. The team is already planning to go back in the spring.
