Association Solutions client the Medical Library Association (MLA) is excited to kick-off the MLA ‘20 Conference,
otherwise known as a virtual conference, on Monday, July 27. This four-week conference did not come without its challenges, however. The original annual meeting scheduled for mid-May in Portland was quickly put on halt when Oregon Governor Kate Brown placed a ban on all large gatherings through the month of September. As a team, MLA was able to adapt to the current health crises and obstacles that came with the pandemic by transitioning their annual meeting to the vConference that it is today.

Not only that, but by pivoting to a virtual conference, MLA was able to incorporate new features that include a new pricing structure for individuals and institutions, new continuing education (CE) opportunities in a CE Passport, and free registration for those who have been impacted by budget cuts, lay-offs, furloughs, and so on as a result of COVID-19. Because of these actions, MLA is seeing a large number of registrants and expects to have a successful conference despite the many obstacles they have faced this year.

MLA is an example of one team that has gone above and beyond to provide for their client throughout these incredibly challenging times.
