What attracted you to a career in marketing?
I majored in international business marketing in college, so I always knew it was what I wanted to do. To me, marketing is the psychology aspect of business and advertising. I like studying the best ways to get people to want what you’re selling and putting those plans in action. I’m a huge nerd for good marketing, to the point that I point out and take pictures of signs that have good marketing whenever I’m out walking around or driving around town.
What’s your favorite thing about your role so far?
My responsibilities are already expanding, and I’m getting to learn so much, but I’m still having a lot of fun with it. One of the best things about it is I feel like I have the space to make my projects my own, and I get to be creative, but I’m still part of a team. I know my opinion and expertise are valued. I’m very happy here.
Do you have a vision yet for where you want your career to go in the future?
I’m enjoying working in corporate event planning and would love to stay in this space long term. I love planning things. When I was in college, I oversaw recruitment for my sorority, which involved a lot of organizing and executing events and marketing to potential new members, so it’s always been something that’s come naturally to me. I love being a part of planning the events and then doing the marketing to entice people want to come to them.

I have an Aussie Doodle named Mila. I got her in college, and I just love her so much. She’s my running/working out buddy. She’s like a human — very smart — and she knows how to get her way. She turned one this year, so she’s still full of energy, and I have to take her on a walk or run or she’ll make me do it!
What’s your favorite thing about fall?
I just love being cozy! I love staying in and curling up with a mug of warm tea. I’m also a huge fan of thriller movies, like “The Call” with Halle Berry or “Prisoners” with Jake Gyllenhaal, so fall is the perfect time to watch something just a little on the scary side. It’s still hot here in Dallas until late October or November, so it doesn’t quite feel like fall outside yet, but I’m still embracing the cozy aspects of the season already.
