June is all about celebrating Pride, honoring the LGBTQ+ community, raising awareness and advocating for equality. Pride Month is a time to reflect on progress, support one another and embrace diversity. Here’s how you can get involved and make a difference this month.
Move with Pride: Stay Active and Show Support
🏳️🌈 Step into pride: Set a movement goal for June, whether it’s walking, biking or dancing. Staying active is great for both physical and mental health.
📸 Share your colors: Post pictures of Pride events, outfits, or places where you feel safe and accepted.
👥 Walk and talk: Invite a friend or teacher for a walk and chat about inclusion, identity and allyship.
LGBTQ+ Mental Health & Wellbeing
Mental health matters, and LGBTQ+ individuals sometimes face extra challenges. Here’s how to take care of yourself and support others:
🧠 Check in: Pay attention to your feelings. If you’re struggling, reach out to a trusted friend, family member or counselor.
💬 Find safe spaces: LGBTQ+ clubs, community groups, and online forums can provide support and friendship.
📚 Learn and share: Read about LGBTQ+ history and mental health to better understand and advocate for equality.
🤝 Be an ally: Stand up for friends, challenge discrimination and create welcoming spaces for everyone.
