Association Solutions client the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology (SVP) was recently featured in major media outlets for objecting to the upcoming auction of a 66-million-year-old triceratops fossil. This is a huge issue for SVP because when fossils are sold, they are “lost to science.” As the prices go up for these sales, museums can’t compete, and researchers lose access to the fossils to further the science. Congratulations to this scientific society for representing its constituents and advancing its mission.
