PTO & Company Holidays
During the summer, MCI USA talents continue to support our clients in many ways and also, many talents plan to take PTO during the summer period, business permitting. This is a good time to remind all of our talents to plan and schedule PTO, since we have a use it or lose it policy. We sincerely want you to take your PTO and enjoy the benefits of time off with friends and family, including improved health, less stress, and greater productivity.
According to The Harvard Business Review’s article: “The Data Driven Case for Vacation”:
“The question that needs to be asked is whether we are more productive and successful with fewer days, or whether work is getting in the way of our success. Statistically, taking more vacation results in greater success at work as well as lower stress and more happiness at work and home.”
Here are some fun facts from the HBR article which I hope will influence you to take your PTO:
- “95% of people surveyed claimed that using their paid time off was very important, yet more than half of Americans (55%) left vacation days unused.
- Many people have become work martyrs, thinking if they give and give, they will be more successful. But it doesn’t play out that way.
- People who took fewer than 10 of their vacation days per year had a 34.6% likelihood of receiving a raise or bonus in a three-year period of time. People who took more than 10 of their vacation days had a 65.4% chance of receiving a raise or bonus.
- If you take 11 or more of your vacation days, you are more than 30% more likely to receive a raise. (After reading that stat, we hope you just started planning your next vacation!)
- Enjoy your PTO!
