Recap: Sustainability in Action at Events
This month’s sustainability speaker session was a standout. Guest speaker Milda Salciute, director of events consulting and academy at Global Destination Sustainability Movement,
brought energy, real data and compelling case studies showing how sustainability is actively shaping the future of global events right now. From evolving client expectations to eye‑opening insights on emissions, waste and travel impact, the conversation moved beyond buzzwords into what actually works.
Milda shared real‑world examples from major international congresses, highlighting how thoughtful choices — from food and materials to social impact — can drive change. The session sparked great discussion and left attendees inspired, informed and energized to take action.
What’s Next in May: DEI&B Focus
This month, we shift to our diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEI&B) pillar, with special emphasis on Mental Health Awareness Month and Sustainable Food Month.
The Sustainability Champions launched a shared virtual whiteboard, where everyone can contribute ideas, resources and reflections. The theme reminds us that movement, food and wellbeing look different for everyone, and that embracing those differences is core to belonging.
