As a senior coordinator supporting multiple clients and the Association Solutions operations team, Madison Williams brings structure, care and consistency to a wide range of client needs — from membership and invoicing to events and reporting. Based in Pike Road, Alabama, Madison has spent four years at MCI USA building on a lifelong connection to association work and a deep appreciation for the small details that make a big difference. Read on to learn what keeps her excited to go to work every day, the habits that keep her organized and the cozy dream she hopes to pursue.
1. How did you get started in your profession?
Association work is all I’ve known. My dad worked as an executive director for an association for over 40 years, so being able to see how much satisfaction and joy he had about going to work every day made the decision very easy for me.
2. What makes you excited to go to work every day?
I would have to say it’s my coworkers and working with my clients. The best thing about my job is that I am always learning. I think that’s something that makes MCI so unique — there is so much support and opportunities to grow in your role.
3. What techniques help you stay organized and productive?
If my work area isn’t clean or organized, I feel like my brain isn’t organized either! I also keep a to-do list where I write out and plan my day. I get satisfaction physically writing the list and checking things off as they are completed. The more time sensitive projects or incomplete projects from the day before are at the top of the list. I am also a big fan of the “do not disturb” status on Teams. If I really need to lock in on a project, I will block off time on my calendar and focus on working on the project.
4. If you weren’t in your current profession, what would you be doing instead?
My dream is to one day open a cozy bookstore, so maybe something along those lines.
5. What are you currently watching or reading?
I love any true crime documentary, but I am currently rewatching “The Office” for the 19th time. (Fun fact: I’ve only seen the last episode once. I refuse to believe that the show ended.) I am rereading the “Throne of Glass” series by Sarah J. Maas.
