Based in Dallas, Texas, Education Coordinator Gaby Kush supports the Association & Society Management team at MCI USA, primarily working with the Society of Defense Financial Management. In her role, Gabby manages educational programs and events, provides member support, and assists with LMS and AMS administration, ensuring a seamless member experience from registration through certification. Coming up on her one-year anniversary with MCI USA, Gabby is just getting started. Read on to learn what’s surprised her most about association education, the Excel function she swears by, and what she’s currently watching to unwind.

1. How did you get started in your profession?
I studied marketing and business at the University of North Texas and graduated just over a year ago. Shortly after graduation, I found the education coordinator opening and saw it as a great opportunity to begin my career. It has been an excellent entry-level role that has allowed me to learn and grow professionally.

2. What one thing surprised you most about working in education for associations?
What surprised me most is how many professionals continue pursuing education and certifications throughout their careers. It has been inspiring to see how committed people are to lifelong learning and professional growth, regardless of how much experience they already have in their field.

3. What organization or productivity hack do you live by?
Excel’s VLOOKUP function has been a lifesaver for staying organized and efficiently managing large amounts of data. It has become one of my favorite tools for keeping information accurate and easy to track.

4. What’s the most rewarding part about your role at MCI USA?
Helping our members and learners achieve their goals. Whether it’s assisting someone with registering for an event, attending a webinar, earning CPE credits or simply answering questions via email, I enjoy being able to provide support and make their experience a positive one.

5. What are you currently watching or listening to?
I’m currently listening to Ariana Grande’s newest album and watching “Married at First Sight.” It’s my go-to show when I want to unwind after a busy day.
